Research Module 1:
Outdoor Climate and Heat-Stress Hazard

The main research responsibilities for Research Module 1 are the reanalysis and projections of outdoor weather and climates for quantifying outdoor heat-stress hazard, and for forcing of indoor climate and building energy simulations.

Research Module 1 consists of two sub-projects:

1.1 Regional Climate

  • Regional- to meso-scale weather and climates and their relations to heat-stress hazards and risks.
  • Assessment of model errors/uncertainties. Downscaling of global climate projections to regional and urban scales.

1.2 Urban Climate

  • Meso- to micro-scale weather and climates and their relations to heat-stress hazards and risks.
  • Human-response modelling and quantification of outdoor heat-stress hazards and risks for reanalysed and projected outdoor weather and climate conditions.
